Maeshowe Northwest Chamber *(Adverb ?) is told to me that great treasure is hidden here well enough few say as Oddr Orkason said in those runes which he carved* . Stenness in Orkney is home to some of the oldest and best preserved "Stone" structures in the world and were built to last the test of time (or more accurately to tell the time) . On Monday 14th July 2003 the Full Moon will shine into Maeshowe and will then be temporarily snookered by the hills of Hoy and then shine into Maeshowe again this happens every 18.61 years (coincidently Maeshowe was unearthed in 1861) . Maeshowe was built thousands of years ago and has been described as the finest chambered cairn in Western Europe . Maeshowe is home to the largest collection of runic inscriptions in the world carved by Norwegians Icelanders and Orcadians between the 9th and 12th Centuries . Maeshowe consists of a long entrance passageway (one of the "Stones" weighs an estimated 30 tons) a main chamber with four "Stone" pillars and three side chambers . Maeshowe is famous for its alignment to the midwinter setting Sun however the Sun enters Maeshowe up to 20 days before and after midwinter . The Moon is perfectly aligned and the light of the Full Moon will enter Maeshowe late at night (Moonset) on Monday 14th July 2003 . Venus is aligned perfectly every eight years and will be at its brightest ever shining into Maeshowe shortly after sunset at midwinter 2004 . Venus as it appears from Earth moves in the shape of a five pointed Star a Pentagram also an Ancient Egyptian hieroglyph for "knowledge" (Pentacles or coins in Tarot is the Earth Element) this is five lines joined together to form a star and is on the cieling of every Masonic Lodge in England (Kirkwall Lodge has Zodiac Symbols) . Venus also known as the Eastern Star (Masonic club for Masons wives) is the brightest object in the sky next to the Sun and Moon and is also refered to as the "morning star" and the "evening star" . Inside Maeshowe "Neolithic" carvings "Stone on Stone" thousands of years old carve three lines joined together to form Tri-"Angles" also two lines joined to form "Angles" . ( *** Sun = yearly *** Venus = 8 years *** Moon = 18.61 years *** ? ) . The G Triangle is a Masonic symbol (Geometry) . Masonic meetings took place at Maeshowe up untill early last century (photos can be seen at Kirkwall Masonic Club and Orkney library photographic archive also on internet ). Maeshowe Cryptic Council and Maeshowe Royal Arch meetings are advertised in the local newspaper but these take place in Kirkwall Masonic Club . Astronomy is the oldest Science and Geometry is the Science Astronomy and Astrology are based on said to be one of the "Greatest Secrets of Freemasonry" GEOMETRY at Dictionary.com = *The mathematics of the properties, measurement, and relationships of points, lines, angles, surfaces, and solids*. ASTROLOGY at Dictionary.com = *The study of the positions and aspects of celestial bodies in th
