Well, today I've launched my xplorer, as usually I've clicked on my Hackles bookmark and attempt to read the last strip.. Enjoyed the daily-strip ("it's a bit strange" I thought) I've read the news and.. yep, nothing to blame, I agree with both of you. I just hope the word "end" will not be forever 'couse you've made me happy lots of time.
I miss you. Good luck to Drake & Jen and to everyone who feel like me -_-

I think I agree with everybody else. Thanks for putting a lot of penguin, er, genuine smiles on my face! I hope you have as much or more fun in your other work and hobbies.

What a sad day!
But the spirit of hackles will keep in my mind.
Be sure the community will still love your guys.
I wish you all the time this nice moments you gave to me.
Good luck to you - Jen and Drake!
Thanks,
David.

It's sad that that this was the last strip. I found Hackels-comics about year ago and right away added it to my bookmarks and have visited every update-day on site.
I wish you both very best from now on.

Well if you have to stop you have to stop, and there's no alternative
there, but I can't pretend it doesn't make me sad! I remember
discovering Hackles for the first time, it was linked to from the Gentoo
Linux forums when Percy and Pete installed Gentoo one day. As I recall,
they almost achieved enlightenment themselves that day.
I was hooked immediately and spent a very unproductive day reading the
entire backlog when I should have been coding. I've kept up ever since
and it's a shame to see Hackles stop.
Drake and Jen, you should both be immensely proud of what you've
achieved with Hackles, and I hope you both move on to greater things.
I must admit I was tempted to attempt my own comic at one point, but
then I realised that I have few ideas and no talent, so I thought I'd leave it
to the experts: you.
Congratulations and good luck.
Matt

ARGH! Dammit, as Opus the Penguin once said, "COMICS AREN'T SUPPOSED TO END!"
Seriously, loved your strip, came back every day. Really sad to see it go, it really had heart.
